Think about this for a minute. Would you go on vacation overseas without planning all the details? You know-passport, flight, hotels, tours, itinerary, pet sitter, hold your mail, get someone to water the plants etc. I’m going to bet the answer is no, you wouldn’t take that trip without lots of planning. Why would you spend the time planning? Because you are really looking forward to that trip. It’s exciting. It’s something you’ve wanted to do for a long time and you want it to be an awesome experience for you and your companions. You can see it, can’t you? Go ahead, close your eyes and see it. That anticipation gets you super motivated.

Now let’s take a look at your business. How much planning–I mean detailed planning–have you done? If you’re like most small business owners the answer is very little. Isn’t your business, that independent success you’ve dreamed about important enough to plan?
